The Best Bars in Tel Aviv: Five Authentic Spots

Tel Aviv's nightlife is nothing short of spectacular. The city treats cocktails the way it treats everything else: with confidence, creativity, and no interest in closing early. With so many bars offering something different, it is hard to know where to start. Here are my personal notes from five of the best.

Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar

Stepping into the Imperial is like entering a different world. Tucked away inside the Imperial Hotel, it is known for a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere, and the bartenders here are true artisans. I started with their famous Bloody Mary, a perfect balance of spice and flavour, in a dim, plush room that feels like an old-time speakeasy. Every drink was a small masterpiece. For anyone who loves the craft of cocktails, this is the essential stop.

Bellboy

Bellboy, inside the Berdichevsky Hotel, is a vintage-inspired time machine: antique décor, retro uniforms, and attention to detail everywhere you look. I tried the Luna Park, a whimsical creation served on a small carousel; the presentation was as delightful as the taste. More than a bar, it is an experience, and a reminder that playfulness and quality are not opposites.

Speakeasy (Rothschild Boulevard)

A relaxed rooftop with breathtaking views of the Tel Aviv skyline. The menu runs from classics to creative twists; my pick was the Rothschild Mule, a fresh take on the Moscow Mule. Comfortable seats, good music, a friendly crowd, and the city glowing below: the perfect place to land after a long day.

Port Said

Near the Great Synagogue, Port Said is pure energy: always packed, always loud in the right way. The drinks list is short and well chosen, and the Middle Eastern-inspired kitchen is reason enough to come. I had a cold beer, great food, and the feeling of being exactly where the city's pulse is. Casual, chaotic, essential.

Imperial Red

The sister bar of Imperial Craft, focused on red-themed cocktails in an elegant, warm room. I started with the Red Dragon, a vibrant mix of fruity and spicy notes, and let the bartenders' unusual flavour combinations take over from there. A refined ending to a Tel Aviv evening.

Five bars, five personalities, one city that refuses to sleep. Start sophisticated at the Imperial, get playful at Bellboy, and end wherever the night decides.
