Night Out in Paris
During our time in Paris, we had the chance to explore some of the city's most renowned bars. Here are our personal observations and experiences at Little Red Door, Kissproof, Bar Hemingway, Lavomatic, and Drinks & Co.
Drinks & Co
Drinks & Co is a modern bar that combines the art of mixology with a sleek, contemporary setting. Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this bar offers a dynamic and stylish environment ideal for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
The cocktails at Drinks & Co are expertly crafted, with a focus on quality ingredients and innovative presentations. I tried the "Urban Garden," a cocktail that featured fresh herbs and a beautifully balanced flavor profile. The bar’s chic design, coupled with its excellent service, makes it a standout destination in Paris’s bar scene.
Little Red Door
Hidden in the heart of the Marais, Little Red Door is a speakeasy bar that has gained international acclaim for its innovative cocktails and cozy, intimate atmosphere. The unassuming entrance led me into a world of creativity and mixology mastery. The bar's menu felt like more than just a list of drinks; it was a journey through flavors and concepts.
Each cocktail at Little Red Door is crafted with precision, using high-quality ingredients and inventive techniques. I tried the "Analog," which perfectly balanced complex flavors with a smooth finish. The ambiance, with its dim lighting and comfortable seating, made it an ideal spot for a quiet evening or a romantic date. The staff’s expertise and passion for mixology ensured a memorable experience every time.
Kissproof
Kissproof is a relatively new addition to the Parisian bar scene but has quickly made a name for itself. Located in the trendy 11th arrondissement, this bar offers a modern and chic environment perfect for socializing. The interior is stylish yet welcoming, with a vibrant energy that draws in a diverse crowd.
The cocktail menu at Kissproof is both creative and approachable, featuring a mix of classic and contemporary drinks. I enjoyed their signature "Kissproof Martini," which had a delightful twist on the traditional recipe. The bar’s friendly staff and lively atmosphere made it a great place to start my night or enjoy a fun evening with friends.
Bar Hemingway
Bar Hemingway, located in the Ritz Paris, is a legendary bar steeped in history and elegance. Named after the famous writer Ernest Hemingway, who was a regular patron, this bar exudes old-world charm and sophistication. The decor, with its leather armchairs and wood-paneled walls, transported me back to a bygone era.
The cocktails at Bar Hemingway are crafted with the finest ingredients and meticulous attention to detail. I tried the "Serendipity," a refreshing cocktail that perfectly captured the essence of the bar’s refined atmosphere. The bartender, Colin Field, is a renowned mixologist who brings a touch of magic to every drink he creates. Visiting Bar Hemingway was not just about the drinks but also about immersing myself in a piece of literary history.
Lavomatic
Lavomatic is one of Paris’s hidden gems, a speakeasy bar cleverly disguised behind a laundromat. Located in the 10th arrondissement, finding the entrance to Lavomatic was an adventure in itself. Once inside, I was greeted with a cozy and eclectic interior that immediately made me feel at home.
The cocktail menu at Lavomatic is playful and inventive, featuring a range of drinks that are as delightful to look at as they are to taste. I opted for the "Bubble Bath," a fun and fizzy cocktail that came in a quirky bathtub-shaped glass. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Lavomatic made it a perfect spot for a laid-back evening with friends.
